Eugene "Geno" Scala, screenwriter and owner of “Shark-Eating Man Productions”, began his professional career in law enforcement. He was "Police Officer of the Year- 1986", then became a state licensed private investigator in both Arizona and California, and started his own successful private investigation business.
After a career as "investigator to the stars" (he counted several "A-list" celebrities among his clientele), Geno was selected as one of four Executive Directors for the 1999-2000 Academy Awards. He managed over 800+ security and non-production personnel, and was instrumental in the management of the Grammys, Soul Train and Blockbuster Awards as well.
Geno has over six feature film projects and two television pilots completed. A well-known cable channel is currently considering both television pilots for future production.
Geno networks heavily with other screenwriters and spends much of his time mentoring other up-and-coming writers. “I was helped along the way, and I should pay it forward, at least to prevent my karma from running over my dogma”!
He eventually left Beverly Hills, CA, relocating to Huntsville, Alabama, where he married the love of his life, Robin, and continues his screenwriting career full time. When not working, he enjoys spending time with Robin, his two college-student daughters, Claire and Mary, and two sports-crazed sons, Jake and Wade. He enjoys golf, gardening, working out, singing and birding.
